“The New Taipei City Fire Department’s New Regulations to Take Effect in September – Worldtrend Assists Businesses in Upgrading Fire Alarm Systems to Enhance Disaster Prevention and Safety.”

The Taipei City Fire Prevention Autonomous Ordinance has undergone proactive amendments and was officially amended in 2022. The amended ordinance stipulates that specific locations with floor areas exceeding 300 square meters must have fire alarm signals and warning equipment with connectivity for reporting. In the event of an incident, immediate notifications must be sent to the fire department and third-party security companies. The new regulations took effect on September 1st of this year. The Taipei City Government has also announced that security companies assisting with connectivity reporting must comply with the ISO 27001 information security certification standard to ensure the security of information assets and reduce the risk of data breaches. Worldtrend Security is one of the few security companies that meet these standards and can provide customized professional services.
Prior to the amendment of the Taipei City Fire Prevention Autonomous Ordinance, Worldtrend Security had already taken proactive steps to assist a well-known chain entertainment business in optimizing and enhancing their fire alarm system. They automated the connection and reporting of signals from the fire control panel. If the system is accidentally shut down, it immediately notifies both the company and Worldtrend Security. Additionally, Worldtrend Security assisted the client in developing a customized app to make disaster prevention and safety control and reporting more convenient.
Yong-Hua Kao, the General Manager of Worldtrend Security, emphasized that their security services provided in commercial and entertainment venues go beyond traditional theft prevention. They leverage new technologies to extend services into disaster prevention management. Currently, the new fire regulations only apply to specific locations with a high level of risk (Category A). These locations typically have fluctuating visitor numbers and dim lighting. In such places, people may not be familiar with escape routes, making proactive fire alarm reporting critically important. With the implementation of the new Taipei City fire regulations, it is hoped that other cities and counties will follow suit in amending their regulations. This includes requiring fire alarm signals and warning equipment to have connectivity for reporting and expanding the regulations to cover other Category A locations, such as hospitals, nursing homes, and elderly care facilities, to enhance disaster prevention and safety.
